Easy Peasy Christmas Cards #32 ~ Wishing You Holiday Cheer

If this is the first time you’re just joining us and want to know what this is all about, please click either the Easy Peasy Christmas Cards tab at the top (if you’re viewing directly from the blog) or click here to take you to the Easy Peasy Christmas Cards Page OR go to the Easy Peasy Christmas Cards Pin Board on Pinterest to see them all!

ACK! Have you ever been “haunted” by an idea? This is such a simple idea that I had been thinking about for sometime. So you’re asking, well it’s easy enough why didn’t you make it earlier? And what a great question that is! LOL I couldn’t think of a way to transition the ornament to the string to my liking. No matter what I had tried, I didn’t like how it came together. Until a few days ago I had seen a Pinterest post where the crafter (I’m sorry, I don’t remember who you are! If this is you, let me know so I can tell everyone how fabulous you are!) had used a rhinestone. Oh my gosh, it was an epiphany!

Card measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
-punch (or die cut) 2″ circles from assorted Christmas themed (or festive) card stock, treated papers (with foil, glitter, etc.) work great too.
-adhere 3 circles to card base and trace with a glitter pen
-draw in lines using a sparkly or glittery pen (I confess, I used a ruler!)
-attach rhinestones
-stamp sentiment

I just love, love, love this card! To make it a little more blingy, I used Twinkle Goosebumps which has sparkle than rhinestones. What’s also great, you can use up paper scraps!

I have a question for you. In my last post, I mentioned that I will be taking a break from Easy Peasy Christmas cards in December. What I didn’t realize is that you can still mail cards locally (in Canada) until the 19th for them to arrive in time. Would you like me to post up to December 14th and take January off? Or go with my original plan and take December off? I would love to hear from you 🙂

WHAT?! A distressed card with NO Brown? ~ Spike’s Birthday Palooza Day 3

A couple of weeks ago, it was my BFF’s (Peggy’s) Birthday. As you all know I had been sitting in a creative slump for a short period of time and I really had to A) make a Birthday card [it’s expected, folks I don’t know if you want to come out of the crafting closet…but the moment you do everyone will expect handmade cards! It’s a blessing and a curse! LOL] B) There’s no way I could dip into my pile of already made cards. I had to make a card especially for her, no if’s and’s or buts!

Hmmmmm, I sat back and thought this out. If you go to her blog Made by Me (no this isn’t a shameless plug for her blog, you should already have it bookmarked by now or better yet subscribed to it! LOL), she makes the most fabulous cards. You’ll also be able to see her style, which is different from mine. (If I do have a “style”, it’s whatever I feel like that day and whether it sticks to the wall!) My thought process jumped around quite a bit and there was no way that I would feel comfortable making a card in her style because she’d kick my butt! (not that this is a competition either! LOL) And so I gravitated to getting all inky where I’d be in my happy place! (insert huge Cheshire cat grin here)

Her favourite colour is green, followed by orange and I know she’s got a soft spot for pink. HELLO! Can you say…Summer Distress Inks??? Okay so there’s no orange, two out of three isn’t bad!

Now don’t those colours just inspire you?? I love them! They’re bold, bright and cheer summer on!
