Discoveries ~ Catching up Wednesday

Whelp! I was sitting around my room (a few weeks back) when I looked over at a package of kraft glassine. I hadn’t played with it in a while and just thought it would be fun to scrunch it up and stick it on a tag. I didn’t do anything else with it, although I could have done a multitude of things (alcohol ink, paint, etc.) but I liked it just the way it was.

Everything else I added was just looking around seeing what I felt like “playing” with, yep it was one of those days. I just love the bell jar stamp from Dyan’s Monster Mash stamp set and wanted to crack open some acetate.
I think I had the little fish already coloured, just kicking around in my extras box.

This tag totally appeals to my science geekiness and fits in with the Halloween “season”. I put together this tag for the wonderful folks over at the Inspiration Emporium.

It’s a different kinda feel…but cool!

Thanks

Fall Leaves Tag ~ Catch up Wednesday

Welcome to the middle of the week! So in my effort to catch you up on projects I’ve made in the last little while I’ll be posting them on Wednesdays. I didn’t want to O.D. you on Spike projects in a week or two, I thought to spread out the crafty goodness! I’ll be featuring them on Wednesdays until I don’t have any more. 😉

I’ve been thinking about this technique since June? I do remember holding it back because I thought it would be PERFECT for fall leaves! Not to worry, I will be doing a technique tutorial shortly.

I rushed to make the leaves but had no idea what I was going to do with them afterwards. A tag seemed like the best way to showcase them. I had just received Tim Holtz’s layering stencils and couldn’t resist taking them out for a spin! First I sponged Distress Ink on the tag then used Wendy Vecchi’s Embossing paste over top with another stencil. I then reached for some rub ons, washi tape and twine to add those little touches. Funny where things end up, I had this clock face embellishment just hanging out because it didn’t have a home until this tag.

I was pretty happy with the way this tag just came together 😀

Thanks for dropping in today and enjoy your day!
