Fall Leaves Tag ~ Catch up Wednesday

Welcome to the middle of the week! So in my effort to catch you up on projects I’ve made in the last little while I’ll be posting them on Wednesdays. I didn’t want to O.D. you on Spike projects in a week or two, I thought to spread out the crafty goodness! I’ll be featuring them on Wednesdays until I don’t have any more. 😉

Spike-Project 3 Sept

I’ve been thinking about this technique since June? I do remember holding it back because I thought it would be PERFECT for fall leaves! Not to worry, I will be doing a technique tutorial shortly.

I rushed to make the leaves but had no idea what I was going to do with them afterwards. A tag seemed like the best way to showcase them. I had just received Tim Holtz’s layering stencils and couldn’t resist taking them out for a spin! First I sponged Distress Ink on the tag then used Wendy Vecchi’s Embossing paste over top with another stencil. I then reached for some rub ons, washi tape and twine to add those little touches. Funny where things end up, I had this clock face embellishment just hanging out because it didn’t have a home until this tag.

I was pretty happy with the way this tag just came together 😀

Thanks for dropping in today and enjoy your day!

  1. Hi Spike,

So great to see you back at it. I love this tag. The treatment of the leaves is quite something else again. The leaves look like I just went out and picked them up after a night of frost, and the inking and clock face compliment the whole tag
