I wanted to work on another page but things weren’t coming together and I couldn’t resist the pull of this page! I think it started off as a mop up page. From there it gained a little more technicolour spraying through a few stencils in a few colours. (I wasn’t following any colour wheel rules, I just sprayed whatever ink landed in my hand.) I think there was a look that I was aiming for (the colours reminded me of Rastafarian) but it got lost along the way. That’s okay journal pages can start in one direction and taken off in other. I am really liking the black spray paint that’s for sure especially to highlight around masks.
One thing I did discover was that my gel pens didn’t work over top the spray paint so I used a white china marker (also known as a grease marker) and it worked like a charm! If you’re not familiar with them I’m sure you may recognize them, there’s a little string you pull and you remove a little bit of the protective paper to expose more of it. Just google it to check it out.
You can barely read the “Express Creativity”, I had written it in the white china marker and attempted to outline it but my black pens were so fine I’d need to colour it in or grab a black sharpie pen. (Now you’d think I’d have one of those floating around but believe it or not, I didn’t! LOL)
For this page I was drawn to add a couple of dimensional elements. Here’s Alphaparts ~ numeric coloured with distress paint beside a remnant Rub.
This is a butterfly Artisan Chipboard by Pink Paislee (I can’t believe I picked up a few of these packages up at Winner’s! SCORE!!) that I sprayed Dylusions over top with a remnant rub below.
I’m a little addicted to Wendy Vecchi’s embossing paste too! I MUST get the black when I have the opportunity. Here’s also a closer view of the white china marker
So the saying I wanted to convey was:
-Journal to Express Creativity
-Journal to explore life
Thanks for visiting today, it’s a holiday here and I’ve been taking it easy this weekend catching up on some recreational reading. But I’ve been waiting ’til the last minute…I need to catch up on a few projects today 🙂
Have a great week!
