Drunken Stampers Challenge 125 ~ Up

WAHOOOO!!! It’s the Midnight Margaritas turn over at the Drunken Stampers this week. The challenge is based on the movie Up or balloons or both!

I just love balloons!! They’re celebratory, they’re fun and put smiles on faces…gotta love it!!

When I started this card, I thought of bright, sunny skies and then started to work on the background. As I just let inspiration take the lead, the background reminded me of something tribal…and perhaps sunsets in Africa. (not that I had been to Africa but from pictures and other points of inspiration) Naturally, my next thought was the vintage-y balloon on Tim Holtz’s Remnant stamp set would be absolutely PERFECT!

I had coloured the balloon in blues…like in the shadow or opposite the direction of the sun. I couldn’t resist pulling out my perfect pearls palette along with a water brush to accent the balloon. White gel pen accents all round, just because I love using it!

I’m super happy how it all turned out!!

Now head over to the Drunken Stampers Blog to see the fabulous work of Barb, Chris, Jessi and Vicki!!

Thanks for visiting today and have an amazing weekend!!

Lots of love,
