Creativity is Contagious Pass it on!

Over at Drunken Stampers, Challenge #86 is You’re a krafty one! And for this challenge, use kraft.

I’m still buzzing with ideas from Tim Holtz’s Creative Chemistry 101 class that when I realized that this week’s challenge was to use kraft, I was in inky heaven! I have a few of patterned papers on kraft and I had recently picked this one up from Graphic 45.

As mentioned above, the main background started off as kraft but I used distressed stains to get it all nice, inky and full of colour. I then stamped the script from the Tim Holtz Papillon Set (which is my absolute fave right now!!) and thought the french script will work perfectly on the French themed paper.
I inked up around the sentiment on the sentiment panel also from that Graphic 45 set and covered it in UTEE. I’m still working on layering that works, I again need permission to dip into my Tim Holtz embellies but just couldn’t (bad Spike bad!). I also sooo couldn’t resist using a new memory box die, now whether or not it works together? I just know I need a bit more work finding my style within this style, if you know what I mean. It’s a work in progress and that’s okay 🙂

What’s in it:

Paper ~ Graphic 45 – Kraft Reflections Collection – Glimpse of Paris
Dies ~ Memory Box – Valerian Flourish
Stamps ~ Stamper’s Anonymous – Tim Holtz – Papillon Set and the flourish stamp from his Shabby French Set
Colour ~ Distress Stains (I don’t remember what I used other than Picket Fence)

Now please wander on over to the Drunken Stampers Blog to check out how our new DT fared with this challenge and then come play with us! 🙂

Thanks for visiting today! Have a great holiday weekend!

Love,

  1. Oh my, what a gorgeous, gorgeous card! I’ve been debating whether to sign up for the Tim Holtz class, and I think you’ve just convinced me. 🙂

  2. I LOVE this card!! I just wandered over here from the Drunken Stampers blog. I had to come and see the card on your blog, because the first thing I thought when I saw it was “wonder if she just took the same class I did?!” lol I was right!! You did such a fabulous job with this card! I think the flourish die goes really well with the rest of the card too!

  3. hhmmm…apparently wordpress isn’t liking me tonight….I *did* just post a comment, but it’s not here! Anyway, I just popped over from the Drunken Stampers blog because I just had to see if you were inspired by the Creative Chemistry 101 class! It totally looked like a technique from it! I’m so glad I decided to take the class too! Your card is gorgeous! I LOVE all the stamps you used on it, and I think the die goes really well with the rest of the card too!!

  4. Now I am feeling REALLY bad about missing that class!! Your card is certainly in inky heaven! Very cool use of colors and inks!
