You are Tea-rrific!

I just love fun stamps that play on words. Yes they can sometimes be corny but that’s what makes the stamps somewhat unique and your creations original.
I have a few coffee/tea sets but don’t use them as much as I’d like. Seriously, what occasion would you send someone a card with a tea/coffee cup on it anyways?? Nonetheless, they are FUN! lol I most often make the cards but they hardly get mailed out or given. I really need to just get myself a roll of stamps and mail out cards, just because!

Soooooo! Here’s a fun card that is absolutely perfect for Drunken Stampers Challenge #85 which the theme is… I’ll drink to that! Where the challenge is to use beverages/any beverages on your project. Yes I know it’s a Drunken Stampers challenge but I had this tea stamp set calling to get inky for sometime now. I used a Mojo Monday sketch from last summer as a basic guide and changed an element or two in it. Sketches are great that way, most often I’ll find myself adding or removing an element to make it work for me. 🙂

I think I’ve been on a little bit of a glitter kick lately or at least accenting with Glitter Ritz cool microfine glitter where I would add it using a quickie glue pen over top of the coloured images.

Now’s here’s a happy “accident”, I stamped the matching teapot in the background. I stamped it in the lightest blue distress ink, it’s soooo subtle you can hardly see it. I had originally stamped it in black and thought that it was too overbearing but since I’m “frugal” and rather than throw it out, I just turned the card around and re-stamped it in blue on the back, which is now the front. Soooooo, here’s the back of the card:

It’s that fun??!! It’s like adding a little something extra but in this case it was “re-purposed” and it turned out absolutely fabulous!

Be sure to check out the other great cards for the challenge on the Drunken Stampers blog! We have chosen our new Designers and we’ll announce them next week!

Thanks for dropping in today! Have an amazing day!

  1. Spike,

I love this card, it looks simple enough but very interesting. Love the color you picked and all the added embelishments. LOL
