Life is a Journey…

Wahoo, I was able to get my hands on a new Impression Obsession Stamp by Gary Robertson. I just love how his images are full of detail and character. It took me a few days to colour it. When I colour very, very detailed images, I like to take my time and colour an element then step away from it. When I go back to it I have better idea of how I want the image to look.  Gary’s images are not only detailed but he’s shown you where shadows lie to help you in shading.

Don’t you just love the cat shadow in the window??? This card was officially going to be an A2 sized card but the size of the image would take up the entire card face. I bumped it up to a 5×7 to accommodate a great sentiment by Kalani Allred (also an Impression Obsession stamp) and the flourish.
I was also in luck! I wandered over to the Impression Obsession blog and saw that the theme for their challenge starting on the 15th is Spring is in the Air! Talk about perfect timing!

Here’s the full card (click to enlarge)

What’s inside:

Paper: Bazzill
Stamp: Impression Obsession – Gary Robertson – Swing with Basket H1855
Sentiment: Impression Obsession – Kalani Allred – Life is a Journey C3775
Copics (too many to list but feel free to ask!)
Embellishments: Spellbinders – Labels 7, Spellbinders – Shapeabilities – Twisted Metal Tags and Accents, Pearls

Thanks for dropping in today, have a great Friday!

  1. WoW!! You did a superb job of coloring and the layout is stunning. I was looking at this image in the online catalog thinking it was cool. Now that I’ve seen it “done up” I want it!!

  2. Wow!! Check out that colouring!!! Sometimes we need to step away and ponder our work to achieve the best results. This is done beautifully!

  3. Wow, Spike!!! You really have aced it! That is just gorgeous and perfect! I really like the colors you chose and how you framed it. The image even makes the sentiment more wonderful and the video also helps with your point. Thanks so much for playing and good luck in our drawing too!

  4. Hi Spike,

Love this card, it sure has a lot of detail, and must have taken hours to color. The whole card says so much LOL
