Wow what a great night! I just got back with REALLY inky fingers from the 12 Tag demo night at Classic! It was fabulous to see soooo many of you there! Thanks so much for coming and helping out a fabulous cause!
Don’t forget if you’re a Fraser Valley local and would like to participate in a Tag swap group, please email me or leave me a comment. (You make multiples of a tag and trade with other members, I figure we meet at Classic to make it easier)
I had made this tag yesterday but didn’t have a chance to take a photo and write about it until now.
So for those of you who don’t know Linda at Studio L3 has been doing the Compendium of Curiosities (a Tim Holtz technique book) Challenges for the last 29 or so weeks. She picks a challenge, then lets us know what page number to go to in the book.
Like the past few weeks…I check our her blog on Monday…oogle her fabulous sample, grab my Compendium of Curiosities book, turn to the page and get the “gist” of the technique. Then I’ll think about it and let it percolate for a bit before tackling the challenge. I won’t go back to the book unless I’m unclear on something.
I JUST went back to the book to figure out what to call the technique for this post and it’s…Weathered Wood Grunge on page 50. Um yeah *cough, cough*…well I think Linda is going to hit me with a wet noodle! *flinch*
I can’t explain all the instructions as they’re Tim’s to share (pick up the book anyways, it’s really good! 😉 but one of the steps was to use a brown distress ink…hence the name… Weathered WOOD Grunge.
So I’m calling it creative interpretation…I used a red ink instead. (I’m the one that tries to put things together and when it doesn’t work…THEN I grab the manual! hehe)
It is a Valentine’s Tag.
I’m really happy with the way it turned out even though it’s not entirely the aim of the technique.
There’s another challenge down. These are fun to do!! Not too many left! I just may go back and catch up on the ones I’ve missed at a later date!
Thanks so much for dropping in today!! You rock! 🙂
PS. If you’re curious what crazy day it is today (Jan 27), it’s Thomas Crapper Day. Um…yeah…
