Sunshine ~ Drunkenstampers Challenge #51

Phew! What a week! I hadn’t anticipated being offline for a few days but we had technical difficulties and couldn’t get online. I have this really passionate love/hate relationship with technology!

It is the weekend!! YaY!! To bring on the weekend, the Drunken Stampers challenge this week is SUNSHINE!
I knew what I wanted to use and do when we were reminded of the challenge topic.
This Tim Holtz folder was simply perfect. I embossed some acetate and added DG3 coloured with reinkers in the grooves. When all was dry I stuck on some microfine cool highlight glitter to make things sparkle! Then mounted it onto some white cardstock to see the contrast better.

For the sentiment, I ran some Coredinations cardstock through my labeler then sanded it.

Seeing the rays upclose:

Don’t they look like caramel? lol

So what are you up to today? Fortunately, I don’t have a class today. I say fortunately as I have a few things I need to catch up on at Classic! Especially for Wednesday!

I can’t wait until Wednesday! Are you coming? At Classic from 5-8 I’ll be demoing techniques from the 12 tags. We’ve also brought in quite a few Tim Holtz goodies to make them including ribbon, yummy metal, paper, tissue tape and more! It’s drop in with a $5 donation to the Ann Davis Transition House. I’d love to see you there!!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

  1. Your card is gorgeous! The “rays” also look a bit like prints left by hiking boots … truly walking on sunshine! 🙂

p.s. I’m now going to dig out the labeler to test your technique …

  2. This looks awesome Spike! Love this technique. Will have to try this one out myself. I love the high gloss finish, it looks like some sort of caramel candy….or maybe I am just very hungry. In any case I really love this.
