Purple Snow – Christmas Card Sunday (CCS)

Well it’s Sunday today and it’s a perfect one to start with a 2010 Christmas card. I was introduced to a tiny jar of joy last fall and haven’t been able to get enough of it since! It’s the holographic embossing powder by ranger. The powder looks like your average old clear iridescent embossing powder but the magic comes when you heat it. The longer you heat it, the iridescence changes colours! So you can have sheens of purples and blues to oranges and reds all in the same project. It’s soooo much fun!!

The only tough thing about it is trying to take photos of this but I have yet to capture this fabulousness on film. I brayered the embossed background with Versamark then added the embossing powder and the white layer of the large snowflake has it too but you’ll have to take my word for it that it looks much better in person!

What’s in it
Paper: Purple (Core’dinations), Memory Box, Wisteria (Basic Grey)
Embellishments: Create a Flake I (Shapeabilities/Spellbinders), Holographic EP (Ranger), Snowflakes EF (Cuttlebug/Provo), Piercing, White Gel Pen, Crystal Stickers

I’m off to spend some time in my scrap happy place while keeping an eye on the new goodies being showcased at CHA!!! Have a super Sunday!

  1. Hi Spike –

Love the card (purple, lilac, lavender are my favorite colors). I have that embossing powder and you are right, it is just beautiful.
