Red and White, Part Deux!

Well, I was crazy crafting this weekend and some I can show and some I cannot! 😉 Jeff and I are headed to see his folks in Barrie, Ontario in about a week. So I’m crazy busy trying to finish off my Christmas cards (hmmm, I should count them now…) and also trying to get things ready for when we leave.
Remember, I was asked to make 3 original red and white Christmas cards for someone? Well here’s #2! (which in fact was the first one I completed!).

I was playing around with ideas and I was inspired by Julee T’s card which can be found here.

To make the poinsettia, I stamped the image in red on white vellum then again with Versamark, embossed it in clear and then cut it out. It was brought to my attention recently (thanks Peg!), that a few of the dye inks that are a deep red or burgundy will turn “orangey” when heated as did this one. I recently picked up a burgundy pigment ink for future projects! 😀 I love this poinsettia stamp and am looking for another excuse to use it!

With a couple of stripes, I used the burnished velvet glitter technique to add a little more bling.

Here’s the 2nd red and white card:

Card Composition:
Paper – Bazzill, Candy Cane (Reminisce), White Vellum
Stamps – Elegant Christmas (The Cat’s Pajamas), Ornamental Christmas (Verve)
Ink – Ruby Red (SU!)
Embellishments – Clear Embossing Powder, Regal Red Glitter (Glitter Ritz), Mini-Rhinestones (CTMH), Pop Dot, Filigree Brad (SU!), Divine Swirls (Cuttlebug), Labels One (Spellbinders)

Here’s to the middle of the week! Thanks for dropping by!
