Red and Green

This card started from the simplest level and grew from there. I had made these little holly “buttons” for another project but didn’t know how many I needed so I just kept going! It just so happened that I ended up with more buttons than I required so I could play with these!

The Holly stamp is a tiny one from Amuse that I picked up at my LSS, little did I know that it cost me $7.50!!! As I purchased quite a few other things at the time I didn’t realize it, otherwise I would have promptly turned around and returned it! I will be featuring another card at a later date with the $7.50 snowflake as well!! *grumble, grumble*
I stamped it in green, filled in the leaves with Liquid Glass aka Crystal Effects then used Burgundy Stickles for the berries. I punched them out with a 1/2″ punch and mounted them with foam squares on a 5/8″ piece of red Bazzil cardstock. YUP! I had fun making these!

Peg had stamped off a few images of a Poinsettia stamp (she doesn’t remember where she got it) that she had and I coloured them in with Bics and Sharpies. Then added the yellow stickles in the centers.

This card is made with:
Paper – Bazzil, Reminisce – Merry
Stamp – Amuse Holly, Poinsettia
Ink – SU! Garden Green, Bics, Sharpies
Embellishments – Stickles

I can’t believe it’s past the middle of October already!!!

Have a great end of the week!

  1. This is just LOVELY!! {gasp} $7.50 for a stamp that small!?!?! The first picture made them look more like 1.5″ but .5″?!?!?! I’d be using that guy A LOT!! It’s a lovely card and in the end, well worth the $7.50!!

  2. Yikes!!! Those were a bit pricey, to be sure!!! I shouldn’t talk; I have sooooo many Christmas stamps I’ve never even inked — not too smart!!! ;-(
    Your cards are both fantastic!!!
