WOW!! I cannot believe this blog candy! Last I saw it was at half of what it is now…it’s…are you ready for this??? Maybe you’d better sit down and get your crafting tools at the ready….over $1000!! Yup you can win over $1000 worth of goodies! From MANY of my most FAV stamp companies too!

It’s for a great cause as part of the entry you are to make a card for a caretaker of a person affected with Alzheimer’s.

Verve’s OSW (One Sheet Wonder) Challenge – Card One

Okay, if you’re thinking…Hey…wait a minute! and to quote Tweety Bird, “I tawt I taw a puddy tat.” Well not a puddy tat per se but this challenge on Splitcoast and on Julee’s blog. Well your right! It was posted on Sept. 5th to be exact! I had all good intentions to get this done before the deadline to be entered into the Verve contest BUT! with my MIL coming into town and full well knowing that my Verve order would be arriving on my doorstep soon…I waited! And believe it or not, I received the stamps the day before the project was due! Well as I was back at work and wasn’t planning on burning the midnight oil for this project, I left it. At one point I thought…nah, I’ll just leave it! But I had already cut out the pieces from my 6×6 bt, dp or whatever you wish to call it and I was pretty close to finishing one card. So what the heck let’s finish them off!

If you wish to look back on the whole challenge, please visit the post on Julee’s blog.
In a nutshell, you were to cut up a 6×6 sheet of patterned paper as per a cutting diagram and construct 4 cards based on 4 sketches given. Rather than post all of them together at once, I will post a card a day or so. (this is not only to stretch this out BUT uh…I haven’t finished the other 3 yet! LOL)

(By clicking on either diagram will take you to Julee Tilman’s post)

Here’s the cutting diagram:

Here’s the sketch for card one:

Here’s my take for card one:

On the BT paper, I stamped a couple of snowflakes from Verve’s Winter Wonder stamp set then heat embossed.

What I used:
Paper: Bazzil
Stamps: Verve Winter Wonder
Ink: CTMH Crystal Blue
Embellishments: Cuttlebug Snowflakes, Stickles, Heat Embossing, CTMH Grosgrain…it’s blue!

Stay tuned for the next 3 cards!

Thanks for visiting!
