Drunken Stampers Challenge #95 ~ Think Peach for Endometrial / Uterine Cancer Month

We’ve started our first challenge with Drunken Stampers today! Theme as you see above is to Think Peach for Endometrial/Uterine Cancer Awareness Month which is September.
I see the irony now but as many of you know I was diagnosed on Sept. 9th last year with Endometrial Cancer. I am VERY fortunate and that it was only stage I.
[No matter how uncomfortable things are…get yer girlie parts checked out!! Especially if things don’t seem right. The earlier things are detected, treatments and such are in your favour. My diagnosis was a complete surprise not only to me but also to my doctor.]

So we’re trying to get you to Think Peach for this month!

YaY! I’m so glad that Drunken Stampers has started back up again, I can play with other fun things and get my mind out of just using 5 steps to create cards (with Easy Peasy Christmas cards)!

I was feelin’ shabby so I grabbed flipped through Webster’s Pages and found this fabulous patterned paper! OH WOW! I JUST noticed that I stuck the sheet on the wrong way! Hahahaaa! The bird nest is on it’s side, oh that’s too funny! Well ignoring that…I stamped the sentiment from Verve’s Believe Stamp set. I stamped the ribbon with embossing ink then used heat and stick power to stick on the Microfine Orange glitter. (Peach is a tough colour to pin down!)
Distressed and inked up the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink as well as the embossed scroll work from Tim Holtz.

Now…pop on over to the Drunken Stampers Blog to see the wonderful work the gals…Barb, Deanne, Jackie, Suzanne and Donna have done with this challenge!

ALSO…you’re going to want to play in every Drunken Stamper Challenge in September with us!! When you do you’ll entered to win the contents of Spike’s Trunk! Well it’s not a trunk really…it’s about the size of a shoe box but the trunk sounded snazzy! Get a peak of a couple of items in it where each week we reveal more!

I always appreciate your comments! Thanks for visiting today!

Imagine Tag

Well over at the Creative Chemistry Class 101, the “live” part of the class is over (where one could post questions and pictures of your creations) but the videos, pdfs are all still available so it’s not too late to take the class at your own pace! And for $35 it’s a steal! :)

I had created this tag from moped up inky bits. I have a few tags now that have moped up inky bits, you can guess that this becomes perpetual! Every time I work on a tag or in my journal, I’m bound to have over spray or ink left on my craft sheet where I’d usually wipe it away. So by creating, I end up creating more! Know what I mean? lol

Hmmmm, I don’t even know where to begin as it was a tag that grew and grew. FYI it is an oversized tag, it’s not the regular #8 tags that I use.
I’ll give you the highlights…fun things were playing with picket fence distress stain, using distress embossing powder on the grunge paper birdcage, painting perfect pearls on the bird, using a texture hammer on the brad and colouring the seam binding with Forest Moss.
For techniques, I’ve used on it..blended spritz and flick, rusted grunge, stamping with stains, there’s probably a few more in there too!

If you’re curious about any other supplies please check the tags area as I’ve listed most of them there. I was super stoked to see that over at Simon Says Stamp and Show that their challenge this week is to make something using a Tim Holtz technique, YIPEEE!! Have a looksie over at their challenge blog for some great ideas. :)

Thanks for visiting today! Have a happy hump day!
