The Sound of Music ~ Drunken Stampers Challenge 117

Wahoooo! It’s Drunken Stamper’s Saturday!! Team Midnight Margaritas are playing this week which means I’ve got a card for YOU! :)

DS117

The movie for this week’s inspiration is The Sound of Music or we can use music or instruments on our card. Well, did you know that I’ve been thinking things to do for this card a couple of weeks ago?

I first thought…hey, I can pull up the music tissue tape, place a music related mask on it and spray it until my hands turn blue. (hahaha, actually that happens a lot quicker than you realize!) Okay, great, Spike…then what? My idea stalled out. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do after that.

Until a few days ago, in the shower (I do my best thinking there!)…I started singing…My Favourite Things…and as I was listing off things…I was checking them off…yup..can do that and that!! OH! OH! I think I have something!

If you indulge me and let’s sing the song! (It’s okay, you don’t have to sing it out loud but I have you know that I will ;) )

Raindrops on roses,

For the drops, I used gel nail polish. I had to dry it quickly under the lamp, else it would soak in.

and whiskers on kittens,

Alright, so it's not exactly a kitten but this is how I roll.

Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens.

These are a few of my favorite things.

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
(I didn’t have any stamps with ponies, streudels, schnitzel with noodles…go figure!)

Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings

The white liquid pearls that I used to draw in my "wild geese" picked up some of the underlying colour. Like...COOL!

The moon is a white piece of card stock painted over with Pearl, Perfect Pearls.

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes

It’s light blue…really…just looks a little green against the background

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes (Sure I could have added some snowflakes, just didn’t feel like it but most likely ran out of room)

Silver white winters that melt into springs

These are a few of…

Made a silvery, white winter transition into spring :)

I’m quite happy with the way the card turned out! For the background, I took Tim Holtz’s tissue wrap and crinkled it up. Flatted it out and sprayed Dylusions Pure Sunshine then Dylusions London Blue and a bit of After Midnight. On the left side, I lightly sponged silver Inka-Gold. The “ground” is Glitter Ritz Cool Highlight Microfine Glitter going to Grasshopper Green and of course there’s got to be a couple of hills. ;)

This challenge really got everyone’s creative mojo going! Please drop by the Drunken Stamper’s Blog to see what amazing work they’ve done AND come and meet our guest designer!

Thank you so much for dropping by today! Have a wonderful weekend!

Love,

What’s in the card: (apologies to my subscribers via WordPress, you’re probably seeing the supplies list in HUGE. Hang tight, the folks over at InLinkz are working on this as we speak. If you’d like to see the list in full, please click over to the blog.
