No matter what time of year, I’m always looking for supplies that I can use for Christmas cards. Even better if I can get a good deal on them too! At this time of year, there are so many stores that are clearing out last years Christmas goodies to make room for this years festive goodness. Be sure to check out those sale racks because you never know what you’re going to get!
I had been staring at this Memory Box die, Country Landscape sitting on the rack (along with 3 others) for the last 4 months and I finally picked it up this past week. I had this Easy Peasy card in mind.
The card measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
-die cut Country Landscape from white cardstock, landscape measures 1 3/8 from the bottom to the ground on the right side
-glue die cut Country Landscape onto card base Bazzill Card Shoppe, Whirlypop
-stamp sentiment and snowflakes using White Stazon
It’s difficult to find white ink that remains opaque when you stamp it on a dark base. White only tends to exist as a pigment ink, leaving the colour on the surface instead of being absorbed into the card stock. Others pick up the colour below it leaving it far from white. I chose the StazOn, it wasn’t as vibrant as I would have liked but that may have been from not inking up the stamp pad enough.
To make it a little more than Easy Peasy, add some bling, use pearlescent card stock instead of white, clear emboss the sentiment to kick it up a notch or two or just leave it as it is.
