Where do cards come from??? No, I’m not looking for the stork that carries newly made cards nor elves that create cards in trees (I think their use of heat tools may burn their tree houses down anyways!)…although upon further thought, I’d rather have card fairies that happily deliver cards with a dash of happy fairy dust! What I’m looking for is where do your cards start??
This card started from a simple beginning/idea but blossomed into something so much more. I had rifled through my scraps and came across this teal’ish card base. (the full story of this will be posted next week :) ) Then paired it up with this pattered paper from Pink paisley. I just loved how well they worked together. (I do this quite often and currently have a few other card bases + patterened paper in this paired limbo!)
This card grew from there, how I found a few more patterned papers that work with this and I loved the shabby chicness of it all! It screamed that it needed the decadence of a Verve stamp when…a special gal popped into my thoughts and then this card was all about her. I didn’t stick to one company or another, I had no sketch to follow, I let the restrictions that I place on myself…go…I gave myself permission to just create. It felt GREAT!
I’m one who keeps my special supplies…”special” for example, I’m currently battling with myself to crack into some specialty coloured foils. Yes they’re really pretty and tough to find but I just have to…to…just do it! To use everything with no abandon! Do you have this problem or is it just me?? lol
What’s in it:
Paper: Pink Paislee ~ London Market
Dies: Spellbinders ~ Lacey Circles, Verve ~ Sweet Scallop Tag Die
Stamps: Verve ~ Sweet Scallop Tag, Fabulous You
Embellishments: Pearls, Twine, Lace Ribbon, Piercer
Ink: Archival Ink ~ Coffee, Distress Ink ~ Vintage Photo
There you have it, this card began from the humble beginnings of sorting through scraps and coming across this teal’ish card base. And it found a happy home with the gal that I thought of when it was made :) (She knows who she is! ;) )
Thanks for dropping in today for my crazy card philosophy/musings! Enjoy your Sunday!
