MERRY CHRISTMAS! I’m honoured to have this card published on Card Sketch a Day on Christmas Day.

Here’s Sketch #116

When I first went to tackle this sketch, I knew that I wanted to give my Martha Stewart branch punch a real good workout. I really, really tried to follow this sketch using the branch punch and this is what happened…

Yeah…it looks more like a bush than a tree! LOL I changed my perspective (turn it upside down and LOOK!

It totally doubles as seaweed! LOL *ah…making a big mental note to self for future!*

And so after many attempts…I present to you…

O Christmas Tree:

First, I punched an entire 12×12 sheet of the green from the Evansong paper pack, alternating sides as one is slightly darker than the other to give the branches different colour. It would also give me the option to flip the punched image without having one side of the tree differ from the other. I took some white cardstock and drew a triangle in pencil as a guide for the tree. Using tweezers, I dipped the branch ends in glue and placed them on the cardstock, starting with the centre to build a trunk where all the branches would start from. The guide was very helpful but the bulk of the work was merely visual placement.
