Spike’s 11th SCS Sketch Card of Christmas!

Now let me start off by saying…I just LOVE this card. It was one of those cards that start off small and the momentum kept building to finally leave the card that’s below. Ever since I started blogging, I no longer had a problem with giving away the cards I had made BUT! This is the first card since then that I can’t give away. I think I’ll start a portfolio of my all time favourites or something.

Photobucket

Presenting Charlie and the Snowman:

This card started off using the vintage values technique, I sponged Crystal Blue ink around the outside of the image, followed by Not Quite Navy. Once dry, I took a Martha Stewart Glue pad and dragged it on the blue areas then sprinkled transparent glitter on the card and waited until the glue dried before brushing it off. I “globbed” some Glitter Art glue at the base of the snow man, added more glitter and let it dry for a couple of hours before dusting the glitter off. For the snowman’s eyes and buttons, I used Black glaze pen and put on a couple of coats, let it dry and “blobbed” Liquid Glass on top to give it dimension. The glitter on the snowman’s hat is my all time fav Clear Stardust Sakura Glitter Pen. The flocked looking areas (jacket cuffs, fringe on hat, pocket flaps and the pom-pom on his hat) were done by colouring the area with Copic E35 first and then touching areas with Copic E11. I was really happy with the way it turned out!

I just can’t believe that I didn’t use pop dots on this as I use them on everything!

Card Composition:
Paper – Bazzill, Frost Blvd Crystal Snow (Heidi Grace)
Stamp – Charlie and Snowman (Whiff of Joy)
Ink – Black Ink (CTMH), Crystal Blue (CTMH), Not Quite Navy (SU!), Copics, Bics
Embellishments – Transparent Cool Highlight Glitter (Glitter Ritz), Clear Stardust Glitter Pen (Sakura), Snowflake Buttons (CTMH), Black Glaze Pen (Sakura), Liquid Glass.

Love,
